Is most published research wrong?

Being an avid believer of evidence based medicine, this video definitely comes across as worrying but not surprising at all. The scientific method of EBM involves an intelligent use of statistics to prove a hypothesis. But... EBM is not simply the collection and analysis of data collected from clinical trials, cohort or case-controlled studies. EBM involves critical appraisals of the available research evidences and the clever application of the study outcome.

While this video shows some of the flaws that have tainted the publication industry, I have every confidence in EBM and I genuinely think that EBM is the way forward.
